The is a super video of a 1911 Detonic and the unique features and why it was super accurate and cycle rate was faster then a normal 1911 and allow me to win speed combat matches with it and set a record with it . The video has 1 mistake about hammer being dangerous resting on a floating fire pin . It is safe if you have the extra power firing pin spring which most late model have in them now and Detonic had in them .

It's Detonics not Deltonics.

Interesting video, TGR, as always. Have never had the opportunity to shoot one. May have to give it a try, sometime.

Nice little pistol. It would have been nice if the guy doing the video had gotten the name right. Wish I could have seen you in competition TGR.

With my BACK facing 6 plates I think they were 9" like the ones in video and about 20 yds the same distant too . You hear the buzzer you must turn and then draw your gun and fire 6 rds at the 6 plates . A miss add 5 seconds to your time . I did it in 3.98 seconds and no misses . The cycle rate or the Detonic is much faster then a standard 1911 and really helps , you can see it in the video . I could finish shoot all 6 rds and reholster my gun before the 1st plate fell and targets must fall off stand to count as a hit . I watched them on TV and they FACE the targets now and the winner is just over 4 seconds . Now it take me 4 seconds to get the gun out of the holster now in my old age ..

We all remember our rattlesnake days tx. You have some very special memories. I would like to see a video of the shoot you described. That had to be an amazing site.

The 1st rattlesnake I killed was in Tx in 1954 with a slingshot at age 11 . Now I'm back in Tx again some 62 yrs later with a slingshot again and will pass on killing a rattlesnake if it is no danger to me or Duke . They kill mice and rats and I hate them more .....

I had a Combatmaster but it was unreliable. Different magazines, different springs, break in period, etc. I traded it off.

It's a great gun, ahead of its time. I just got a lemon.
