I'm looking for another .22 auto handgun to add to the stables, and i'm having issues desiding between the Walther P22, or the sig Misquito sport. I like the feel of both of these, but want to hear from others. Has anybody else handled this fine firearms? good experiences? Bad?

i've seen a wlather with a fractured slide but that was after thousands of rounds fired.
no knowledge on that sig....

if you want some "sleepers" in a .22, look around for some out of production smith and wessons such as the mdl 2213 which is a kick a** compact that is ultra reliable and more accurate than it has a right to be for it's size.

Another relative unknown for some is the cz75 kadet---full duty size with the feel of a heavy 9mm but very accurate and reliable.

should i ever get back into competition-----browning.

velvalco,... I will be as honest with you as I can... The P22 is small, and looks like Buck Rogers designed it (think pocket pistol)... The Mosquito looks and feels like a Real Gun, and should be bought with the threaded barrel so you can put a fake silencer on it (its solid aluminum, and acts as a bob-weight stabilizer-vary nice)... The Mosquito Sport is not a good thing (both of these guns are not Target Pistols... You will not hit the broad-side of a barn with them without a Scope... They are just Beer-Can Plinkers... Fun Guns... My suggestion to you, is Get a Buck-Mark (new or used) and be happy, because you will have a Gun that will hit what your aiming at with Open Sights, and is a good cross between Sport & Cool... Their priced right~Proven track record~made of Good materials~can't be worn out from shooting...
As you can see from pics of my guns that I just don't only buy Guns for there function, but also for there Cool Factor... My Guns have to L00K like their worthy, to take up space in my Gun Safe... Besides the Gunner's Love them when I let them Shoot them at the Range..<:))

well it came down to it, i was at my favorite pawnee today, and the choice had to be made. They had a sig misquitto and a browning buckmarck target. I couldn't put the browning down.....so i brought it home.

I'll post pictures and a range report asap.

When come to a 22 target gun this is the top of the line . This is the second barrel on this gun , I got 62,000 rds out of the orginal barrel , the groups open up to 1 1/2 inches at 25 yds , new barrel shoots under 1 inch . Only replaced mainspring in 40 yrs of shooting it .

...I had their Duramatic 4 1/2"....a slew of their Sentinel Deluxe in 4" and 2 3/8"....a coupla derringers...I sure wish someone'd buy those patents up and remake them all...they're worth the effort..though cheap, they shot reliably and were scary accurate...only misfires I ever had were with a derringer...the rest were 100%...and I paid $219 for a 4" blue Sentinel Deluxe that is identical to the first revolver I bought...for $41.50....waaaaaaaaaaay back in '66............

The company name's revived and building 1911 and, I think, shotguns down in south Texas...but not the handguns...nuts....

..................well, I went to their website and I was wroooong...they've expanded and are building some more than they were...but not at '60s prices!!!

I got a trophy model in stainless when they 1st open up in Texas . The worn out barrel took off my old gun out shot the new one . So I hope they have improved them since then . I would look for a old one if I needed a replacement . Maybe there 10x's at $1300 would be OK . They sell more guns check out paste under auto mag , there 6 models .
