So many people have commented about liking the decocker model P90 which is the one I have. Is the discontinue about the safety police? If it is, they are just as safe as any double action revolver plus the decocker feature.
The decocker is a safer way to let down a cocked hammer....only thing safer is a DAO, like a revolver altered to be unable to cock it...there goes your long shots.....I wish the lawyers would take a vacation.......
Have they discontinued the P90???? I knew they did the P89, but had not heard about the P90. I think they are making a big mistake myself. My P90 is the single most accurate .45 ACP I have ever owned.
I definately love the decocker on my P226....the decocker is definately safe....don't see why Ruger would discontinue it, unless sales were just flat.....
My GF worked for Loomis Fargo and their guards weren't allowed to carry anything with a decocker. I don't know why that is. I owned a S&W model 315 9mm with a decocker and it seemed safe enough to me.
more of that good bean counter stuff-------the "safety" model probably out-sold the decocker model........
the ruger "p" series has always been a good value and would guess a lot of "p" series pistols get sold to first time gun buyers that probably only know which end the bullet goes out---so the "safety" probably seems appealin'........
that and of course the liability aspect----and again especially with the uneducated.........common sense safety wise uneducated that is.............
