I was reading a post in another forum where someone said they used walnut and long grain rice mix to tumble their brass. Has anyone ever heard of this or used it? If so how did it work for you.

Rice is cheaper than corn cobb and if I could mix it 50/50 to extend the life of my corn cobb that would be great. If ya hear of anyone using it ask them how it worked for them, I would realy like to know if it works or not.

well, its cheap enough, and really can't see where it would do any harm and would be a cheap experiment............

still think that it would be like rice in the salt shaker--------keep the moisture out of the media so it works better.................

ok hold on to your hats got an answer back. Adding a cup of rice to corn cobb or walnut media adds to the cleaning. What extends the life of the media is a dryer softener sheet torn in stripes. Spo help men God that is what the man send back. I am checking my place to see if canded camera has got a camera hiden't some place.

I'm using corn cob pet litter. Bought a 25# bag for cheap money. Rice is actually getting more expensive these days although I have used in the past as filler for sand bags for shooting bags. It would likely work as a case cleaner and shouldn't be too dusty.

I put rice in an old clean white sports sock, fill up the foot end and tie a knot, then put it in the microwave for about two minutes. Works great for getting the knots out of my back and shoulders, like a heating pad only better. Smells good too. And no - it won't pop like popcorn.
