Ok I have a red dot scope and I'm not sure how to use it. When you look into a red dot the red dot will move as you move your head. Now is the bullet still going to impact where the red dot shows or not? The holo scopes I've been looking at say that they will shoot to where the reticle or dot shows. The red dot should be used like a regular scope right? Where as the holos are used with both eyes open and work differently? I'm so confused. I told you I was stupid. :)

For my BSA the red dot floats but is always the point of impact.

Ok 44s. That's what I needed to know. Where ever the dot is is the point of impact. I just wanted to be sure.

Danny you're a smartass. :)

To be honest it seems to be a pain. Il ike the idea of the Eotech and those type. I may put a Bushnell holo on my AR.

the holo can "float" as well.............its just that it has that nice big recticle circle in it that automatically makes you want to center your eye and center the circle on the target.........therefore that little 1 moa dot seems not to float.

red dots and the halo..............think of them sort of like a laser.
with a laser, it does not matter where your eye is positioned in relation to the stock/gun. As long as you can see that laser dot on the target that is where the bullet will hit. So your head can be higher/east/west/sideways or what ever in relation to the muzzle/axis of the gun and it won't matter cause you see the dot on the target and that is your aiming point not having to re-lie on your eye position with the gun.

the red dot/halo/eotech is basicly the same thing-----except the laser dot in this case is not projected on the target but instead projected in the tube on a pane of glass.

I think I'm getting it now. Thanks guys. I'd hate to pay a ton of money for a scope that is smarter than me. :?

I have been manfully resisting the temptation to pick the low hanging fruit on this thread and you two are not helping.

I want a Bushnell or Eotech. I'm leaning towards the Bushnell. Much cheaper. After what I paid for the gun it'll be a bit before I get anything. :?
