this is a dutch hembrug 1921 .303 British please view the photos for all the identifying symbols, any help in identifying and placing a value is highly appreciated
I'm not real familiar with this rifle but do know it is a Steyr Mannlicher design and did not start life as a 303 British. My guess is it was rechambered in India in the early 1950's. I can't read the cartouche clearly but I think I see the British India Crown on it. It appears to be a mis-matched serial number firearm.
thanks 303, the only number that doesnt match is the one on the bold which i have found is a common occurrence when a weapon was in regular use. i have yet to come across another rifle like it believe it or not
In India the 303 British conversions were used as constabulary use. Some Hembrugs were captured by the Germans and used by them but show different cartouches.
