A new Henry H010 in 45/70....Gun shoots great. I have shot some factory junk for the brass and then "rolled some of my own" I like hard cast bullets hot and heavy...mostly 525 and 420 grains as hard as I can push them and still be accurate. This guns factory recoil pad is nice and does the job very well, still kicks like a bad donkey but I like that.
Here's the problem...the tubular magazine has come loose due to some very poor fit-up on the dovetail milled into the barrel in two places...the magazine has nearly fallen off the gun. I am sending it back to Henry and hoping it will be fixed properly so this doesn't happen again. Has anybody had problems with their Henrys and are Henrys not able to handle hot hand-loads like I was reassured they could before I bought the gun.

A new Henry H010 in 45/70......Has anybody had problems with their Henrys coming apart from recoil?...the tubular magazine has come loose due to poor fit-up in the dovetail/lugs that hold mag to barrel. Anybody have warranty work done by Henry...done right? I'm concerned Henry will "fix" the gun the same way they built it and it will fall apart again.

I suggest you contact Henry, then maybe a gunsmith.

That's really odd. I have several Henry's and I have friends that have Henry's including the 45-70 and the one thing all Henry's have is a great trigger. Something ain't right. Contact Henry. Their CS is the best anywhere. They will fix it or replace it.
Let us know what the issue was. The cal has zero to do with the trigger pull or really anything to do with the trigger.
I'm going to complete my lever action soon with the addition of the 223/556 long ranger (already ordered) and soon with the .17 hmr lever action Henry. Just can't decide yet on a couple of things. It will be a heirloom as I'm passing it down to my grand nephew. I may get some flack about it but I'm just not a fan of the 45-70. Never had a want to have one. Has nothing to do with recoil (the pad Henry puts on the back should take care of anyone's issue with recoil) but I've just never been a fan of the caliber. Not sure why.
Anyway, I have a tendency to make my post too long and I will be working on that flaw. Just give me time.
