I went to the range this morning to test some new 158gr LRN reloads. I shot 12 each of the following:
HP-38 3.1gr WSP
HP-38 3.3gr WSP
HP-38 3.5gr WSP
HP-38 3.7gr WSP
The 3.3 and 3.1 shot the most accurate at 25yds.
Interesting thing happened. When I went to empting the cylinder of the first six 3.7gr, one casing didn't drop out. Pulled it out by hand, and the casing was split, starting about 1/4 in. from the mouth, going to 1/4 in. from the rim. No sign of high pressure from the primer point of view...must have just been a weak case.
I checked the inside of the cylinder it was in, and absolutly no sign of any problem.....man, I really love this GP100.....
Will try to post a pic later.....
