Well I am back for the shootout and it was Fantastic!
I had a BLAST!
Even though a lot of this is done in fun, these people are Serious about there fun!
I saw a lot of very fine shootists and a lot of really cool outfits.
I have never seen so many ‘Collector Quality’ firearms being used. I was amazed at the amount of money these people must have in their pastimes. The clothing alone would break a person!
I was also surprised at the number of women shooters.
There were people from 10 to 75 shooting and doing a very good job of it too. There were people from all around the country and I did speak to one couple from Ontario who came to shoot.
I was very impressed with their strict devotion to safety.
Most of all, I was impressed with the camaraderie the people had. One fellow met me at the gate and I explained that I had never been to one of these SASS shoots. He led me around and showed me the ropes and gave me a lot of valuable information. Later on I pointed him out to another competitor and said, that feller is a hell of a shooter. He said, “Oh. Hoss? He is the Regional Champeen!”
