5R Mil Spec 308 10th anniversary edition with Bushnell elite 4200 6-24X50 h.s . persisicion allunimum and kevlar stock totally bedded including 20 MOA base timney trigger #7 contour barrel with is 2 inches shorter than PSS barrel is the same ones used in the M24 M40 sniper rifle . Military designed bullet for Percission stricks out to 1100 meters! !!
Here are a few of mine. Both in .308. One is a Savage Model 10-FP. The other is a Savage Model 12-FT/R. The 12-FT/R is a true target rifle. Single shot action with the target Accutrigger. It lets off at about 1 to 1-1/2 pounds, and breaks like a glass rod. It has the 30" Stainless Steel heavy barrel, and is very accurate. Both guns have the Bushnell 5-15X Tactical Elite scope in 40 MM. Rings are Burris Signature Zee rings with the plastic inserts.
Both guns are 2 of the most accurate I have. About the only 2 others that come close are a couple of heavy barreled Remington 700's. One in .22-250, and the other in .25-06. Both of those I've had since the late 70's. The quarter I took out with the .25-06 on a bet at 150 yards, back in the early 80's. I forget the handload I was using. I remember the bullet was a Sierra 117 Gr. Matchking seated out to the lands.
One other rifle that really surprised me accuracy wise, was my Weatherby Mark V Accumark in .338-378 Weatherby Magnum. The groups shown were the first fired on it's first trip to the range back in 1999. Since then I've found it to be even more accurate with the 300 Gr. Sierra Matchking and a healthy dose of WC-872 powder. Federal 215M primers with everything. I've found it to be surprisingly accurate for a sporter.
In .22 rimfire, the most accurate rifle I have is a Browning A-Bolt Gold Medallion Grade I bought new back in the 80's. It's been long since discontinued. It's beautifully made rifle. That's a crappy scan of a picture I took back when I bought it. Right after they discontinued them I found a distributor in North Carolina who had a bunch of 5 and 15 round Browning magazines for them. I didn't have any extras, so I ended up buying 6 of each. I was really glad I did because today they're really expensive.... Assuming you can even find them.
I don't have any heavy barreled gopher getters anymore but the handful of sporters I have left shoot pretty good groups.
CZ 452 American 22LR
10 shot groups at 50 with a 4X scope.
Ground Squirrels are targets too.
Home grown 222.
I have a couple of other small cal's...CZ 527 17FB and 700 Classic 17Rem....both with Pac-Nor barrels but I don't have any target pix.
