Can you tell me anything about this gun it was give it has a lot of rust I wanna have it redone but don't know what kind it is

It's going to need a lot of careful cleaning. Would also like to see a full photo of it.

Rode hard and put away wet. Agree need a full pic plus do you have any info like caliber or manufacturer? Not sure there is much to salvage there.

That's what I'm having trouble figuring out there only numbers on the side and a cpl of markings behind the rear sights no names no bore size

A few barely visible stampings. If you could clean them up more legible that might help. I see an S and a circle with a triangle inside. Some numbers in a line; ?494?6.
