When I first got my storger I could hardly put the barrels in the receiver, well now that she has been to several matchs she has loosed up a good bit. I sure like that posative lock up when I slam her shut at a match. I have seen some folks have their pop open after shooting one barrel. I was of the mind that I was going to have a set of liter springs put in but have changed my mind now. I am sticking with what I got at least for now.
I sure love shooting her too, I did cut off the stock and put a lime saver padd on her. Glad I did that too, I want to get a TTN it comes witha steel butt plate, they are pretty heavy so I am hopping that my shoulder will take the recoil sure don't want to cut off the stock and put a lime saver on her. but once ya get some years on ya ya end up doing things that ya never thought ya would do.
Right now I shoot the 49'er class and want to shoot classic cowboy. Much harder to shoot in that class and there are alot of fine shooters in that class as well. but if ya don't shoot with better shooters then your not going to get better. Well its my way of thinking any ways. May not be right but its right in my mind anyways.

I've been hearing a lot of bad things from the cowboys down at the Hooten Regualtors where I've been shooting, about the Stoegers. Everyone I talked to said the chambers had to be polished and a lot of fine tuning inside before you could even load the things out of the box. Black Tom, one of the better shooters we have in Kentucky and also the State Champeen, said all the Stoegers seem to all shoot about 6" high at 15 to 20 yds. That ain't good!
Reading CAScity forums, everybody loves the TTN.

They'll shove at us what we'll buy...good doubles are scarce now....I wish I had all my 311s back...and my Browning sxs....and my Ithica 20 sxs...ain't no more....the Stevens 411 that they released about 4 years ago seems to have been dropped..can't find it...the rest are imports...Snuffy you guys gotta have rabbit ears to shoot the matches, right???? An old Fox Model B sure would be smooth...

ADDED July 9, 2008 for my above post:

I asked around about the Stoegers at this weekends shoot. Seems the nickle ones are built a lot better. One thing I have found that is strange, everyone knows MSRP Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is usually a lot higher than things really sell for right? Well look around on the internet for Stoeger Coach guns. Most people are asking More than MSRP! Whats the Deal?? Able Ammo seems to have the best price on them. Bud’s guns here in Caintuck, don’t even sell them.
LOL Snuffy, you are Correct Sir! Shoots low? Aim higher!

i'd say it's supply and demand. Ain't that many coach guns out there and cas is growin' so they can purty much ask what ever they want and get it due to demand....................

now if ruger would just start makin' savage 311's..........th patents are long runned out on those.
Matter of fact, there ain't one single maker of an affordable sxs that is USA made that i know of.........

stoegers are from south america
TTN's i believe are china
CZ-USA are from turkey
remington spartan-----from russia with love
norinco's----china

i think there are a cpl more under different names from china and from what i read, they are are built purty fair..................

from what i understand, a lot of old savage 311's and old spanish import doubles are gettin' cut down for CAS...................

Yep they are and the ones that are shootin them have deep pockets to shoot those. Ruger pretty much had the market on the 6 guns but that is not the norm any more folks are going to to Taurus and Colts if ya have the money and Cimmrons
Ruger could have made all of the 6 shooters shotguns and rifle but they seem to have there head up their azz as usual.
