If it has Sig stamped on it, you know it's going to be fairly expensive. If it had H&K or FN stampecd on it, I'd not even want to take a peek at the price tag.

Is that going to be considered a short barreled rifle??? If so you can add a few hundred more for the federal permit.
Cool gun though. Really cool if it takes standard AR mags.

As far as I've been able to gather, it will be classified as a pistol. As far as I can tell, it's thier 556 rifle that's been transformed into a pistol. I will try to gather as much info as I can, and report back. I would really like to have one if it's in 9mm....I would think .357Sig would more likely be a choise for Sig.....

The Sig 556 is designed as a Rifle/Carbine, the picture above is missing the stock, but still does not make it a pistol and the calibers will be in rifle cartridges. While the SIG 556 series weapons are currently only availale in 5.56mm NATO, 6.8x43mm SPC (a.k.a. 6.8mm SPC a.k.a. 6.8 SPC), 7.62x39mm, and possibly even 7.62x51mm NATO (7.62mm NATO)/.308 Win. (unconfirmed/unverified) versions are on the way.

Wizard, okay now are they going to shorten the barrel any? What other changes are they going to make etc to the 556 if any. You may find that the 556 in pistol format my just be to much to handle as a pistol without a telescoping stock etc on it.

I agree with you totally, JB.....a .223 in pistol is just too much....I would like to have it if, it comes out with a threaded back....just slap a stock on it, and ya got a sbr....but I don't think that's gonna happen....and the price is just too much for me....$1200 can get me a couple of something else that I really want..... :lol:
