I installed a SBH hammer and it's wearing a set of grips made by 41 magnum. It's a 357.

Here it is with the old hammer.

I always do the same with any Vaquero or Blackhawk I acquire. I really like the SBH hammer.

I don't know why anyone would put SBH hammers on Vaquero's
outside they look good and feel better

They do just drop in most of the time, trust me.

I'm going to do both my 45's real quick here. I'm going to modify the pawl too so it'll free spin.

You will like the free spin, makes loading and unloading faster. I had problems with the width of the hammer and the notch for the transfer bar and firing pin.

I wonder why. The hammers should be a direct swap out. I had no problems with the last one I did.

It was on a 30 carbine, was getting light hits on the primers??????????? :?

Did you change the spring? The hammer could have been the problem I guess. Sometimes you have to file the lower flat area that doesn't strike the transfer bar. I forget the term. :? By taking a little off it hits the transfer bar a little harder. That'll take care of light strikes.
