I always thought that a 9mm 1911 was a silly idea. All my others are .45 Auto. I got on a 9mm kick a couple of years ago and bought 3. One was an HK VP9, a S&W M&P9 2.0 Compact 4" and a Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander-Style 9mm.

I had a shoot-out with all 3 one day at the outdoor range. Want to guess which one shot the best? (The 1911 of course.)

I guess a 9mm 1911 isn't so silly after all.

Buds has 4 of them in stock for a mere $1,443.53.

Truthfully it is tempting. I'd sell off a couple of the collection. Is it reliable?
I paid $1049.00 for mine 7 years ago. That was a good price for it then. I guess the Bidenflation has hit the gun market also. When I first got it, it sometimes failed to go into battery. Sent it back to Smith and they replaced the extractor. Since then, I've put at least 2K rounds of hard ball, JHPs and lead SWCs through it with no failures.

Then a little voice inside says you have a Sig P250 Compact and a Sig P320 Compact both in 45 ACP why do you need another. Now granted they aren't 1911's but I only have 2 hands. LOL.
Your logic sounds like my wife's used too! (She has since realized there is no hope and doesn't worry about my "essential purchases." Actually, I understand completely. I've been looking at 5" S&W 686s for some time. Every time I get ready to press the "Buy Now" button, I get cold feet. :(

I have been hanging on to a Ruger Blackhawk convertible in 45C/45ACP that I have had for several years and have 25 rounds down the pipe. Barely have a turn ring on it so will sell it when I get back home. I may convert that into something else. At 75 I'm thinking time to pare down the inventory some but then I see something else. :)

Last April I wanted to reduce my arsenal. Sold my 10/22 and .357 SP. Bought three pistols and a rifle. I got the math wrong someway ...
