I'm on the short list for the rebate check to arrive thanks to my Soc #. The wife gave me the green light to take the class to get my CCW as the budget won’t suffer (she balances the books). The class costs around $125.00 and then you have to pay for a photo for you license and fingerprinting at the sheriff's department. The fee for the permit is $105.00 at the court house. Here in Barry County they move the process along pretty fast so hopefully in a week or three I'll get my permit in the mail!

It will probably cost around $250 to get it, but I think it’s money well spent. I’ll let you know how things go.

Pretty steep fees up there. It cost $75 for the class and $60 for a 5 year license here.

I think I got the wife talked into letting my buy a CMP Garand with my rebate check!

John & I were just discussing this. My renewal for 5 years, since I'm retired is $7.50. Of course I've had My CCW for 35 + years, & the very first one I got was $2.50 . My Son-in-Law just renewed His, & I think it was $35.00.

I had to renew my license so gave my application to the chief this week should have it next week and will have to pay the NH $10 as well. When I get back to Texas I'll have to do the class and proficiency test, etc to get a Texas license. That will increase the number of states I have reciprocity by 10 to 32 but more importantly will let me carry in Texas.

Took the CCW class today, and will go file the paperwork at the court house tommorow after work.

It was OK...It would have been a very good class for somebody that knew VERY little about guns and self defense (which is what the state wants I think). But it felt like taking hunters saftey as an adult. Mostly common sense. The legal portion of it was intersesting though, and the range time is always fun.

Over all I would not recomend the instructors to others if you wanted ANY in-deapth info.

The funniest part of the class was the gentleman who brought a single action .22 LR as his range gun. It was funny trying to watch him speed load one at a time for the rapid fire drills. We were teasing him that his attacker was going to die of old age before he ever got a shot off.
