I was walking Mom out to her motorhome tonight when I found this youngster slink'n across my driveway. I grabbed my hoe that was handy & it was "OFF WITH HIS HEAD". This is the third Copperhead I've killed this year. This one is young (doesn't have his copper coloring yet but did have about 1/4" fangs) & about 10-12" long. Mom held Mattie back while I did the kill'n, but I was glad to see she didn't want anything to do with it after it was dead. Left it outside so my Racoons can have a nice snack tonight.

It's funny, the snakes we have around here are all non-venomious so if we see one, I normal pick it up and look at it before letting it go. But if I ever saw a Michigan Rattle Snake, it would be asking what the heck happened to that copperhead up in snake heaven. :)
