I saved the Kahr for last, because you guys had me scared about the recoil!
So I carefully loaded one round into the extended mag and chambered it. Again from 7 yards, I squeezed the trigger and, uh, yeah it's a pretty big bang. Trigger feels great, by the way, very smooth. But I didn't break anything or drop the gun, so I shot a full extended mag and then tried the short mag.
Much like the LCP, it seems a big part of the comfort behind shooting this gun is finding enough real estate to put your hands on the gun. I'll be honest, when I loaded the short mag, at first I felt like it was going to be a lot worse. And it was, until I stopped trying to squeeze one too many fingers onto the front of the grip. Once I abandoned that idea it was actually easier to shoot.
But then I got a really wacky idea. I wondered if maybe this gun would be easier to shoot one handed! So with the short mag in, I took aim and, I'm not kidding, my very first shot with one hand is that one on the left target, dead in the middle of the bullseye.
I looked around to see if maybe someone else had witnessed it, but alas, only me. So I changed targets, put it out at five yards, and shot the rest of these - about half with one hand and half with two. As you can see, even though it's two yards closer, I definitely started to settle in a bit.
One problem: The extended mag somewhere along the way, something inside of it broke. I can hear it rattling in there but haven't had time to open it up and look yet. I ran into my neighbor on my way in, the guy who sold it to me, and told him about it. He said he'd buy me a new magazine.
But other than that, this thing packs a helluva punch but I can handle it. I wouldn't call it recreational, exactly, but BH, I'll tell you this: I would rather shoot this gun than .357 out of my GP100.
