I've been trying to look at one in person but every shop I've been to has been out of them (with a list of orders waiting).

My neighbor (the K9 cop) met me in the front yard this evening as we were picking up our trash cans and produced one from his pocket. It is much smaller than I thought from looking at pictures! It's really cool.

Then he dropped this on me: his buddy who runs the gun shop up the road has two more. He said let him know and he'd have the guy hold one for me.

It wasn't in my SHORT term plans, but it was IN my plans. I know I can't as you jokers what to do!!

I think he said the price was like $340. That sound right? I'm really conflicted. I hate making impulse buys I regret later, but I can't find much to regret about this. It'll last forever, and I can take it anywhere.

MSRP is $330. I paid $295. That's high but they're going for quite a bit for now. If it's not something you really want, wait. I wouldn't pay it unless I was looking for a carry gun and was in a hurry.

Yeah, it's really cool and I can see having one some day. But I'm afraid if I get it now, then next month when my stimulus check comes in I'll be thinking dang, I could be close to getting that Kimber Ultra Carry II right now! That's the one that REALLY calls out to me right now.

I mean it's not like this Ruger is rare, it's just hard to get right now.

from what i understand, suggested retail is 330. Many folks onn other boards state they make better deals and get them for under 300---but who knows? it's just a supply and demand thing. Right now, the supply is short and demand is high so it's a seller's market as they can purty much ask what ever they want within reason(suggested retail as a guide) and they can get if if they are a little patient.

a year or two from now as the playin' field levels, pricein' will become more competitive as they will come down a bit to get the sale----right now they don't have to if they ain't hungry.

so, i guess it's really up to you and if ya are willin' to shop around a while or if the wants and needs over-ride any potential savin's in dollars. Would you pay an xtra $40 to get the gun 6 months early? or wil it be 3 months, or will it be 10 months???????---do you gamble?

For me, if i needed it, yes because i need it now-------if i didn't need it but just wanted it------no---but i have other gun priority needs..............the want list has been active for years.......................

If you haven't picked one up though, check them out next time you can. They are neat little guns.
