"There's a chance my thumb slipped up to near the cylinder gap, but I think this is still a fatal flaw in the gun. A long time ago before I knew anything I had my left hand right by the cylinder gap on a .357 mag and got a nice burn and a bit of blood seeped out. But if having enough gas escaping out the side of the gun to remove fingers is part of the design, all I can say is WTF were they thinking?"


Umm, I don't think that S&W was lacking the thinking.

That's my Christ, there...keep your cracker...that guy should never be allowed to shoot a gun...and then to palm it off on a design defect...wonder what he'd say if his thumb had been over the end of the barrel....idiots abound....

ignorance is not an excuse. My main question is, how does a person who holds a firearm improperly go from a .357 to a .500? Somebody should have cought that before the injury.

I'm not an instructer but when i go to the range and i see a firearm being improperly held or used, i'm generally one of the first ones to offer advice. If they don't learn or wanna learn i'm outta there. I don't wanna be the range accident.

You're right, Danny...usually the idiot doesn't get hurt...he hurts someone else...I'm real particular who I shoot with...and don't care who I correct on the range...I got enough holes in my carcass already, though some might disagree.....

Personally I never found a use for a revolver over a 44 mag class gun . If I need more gun then that I have a 308 in a XP100 or TC in a hunting class cal .
