I have a NAA Mini Revolver in .22 Mag. I figured on carrying it while jogging and loading the first chamber or two with shotshells. I jog up and down the road in front of where I live (out in the sticks) and there are plenty of snakes around. Well, I thought I would try the shotshells out on a water filled bottle. To say it was unimpressive would be the understatement of the year! Heck, the shot barely penetrated the bottle. Now, the NAA sure aint the most accurate gun I ever owned, as it will shoot dang near a foot low with regular .22 Mags. But, the shotshells actually hit the bottle pretty good, it just barely penetrated it. I reckon it might kill a snake, but I really don't want to find out! I have used the regular .22 LR many times and they seem to penetrate better. Of course, that was out of a 6 1/2 barreled Single Six vs. the barely over an inch NAA Mini Revolver.

I have that same revolver, Tim. I was very unimpressed with it. It shot terrible even at close range. The shotshells would be better fired from a 4-6" barrelled gun. If you want the snake dead, throw the gun at it.

i've had similar experience with snake shot out of the 22 lr in longer barrels----almost have to be standin' on the snake for it to do any good............

and i sure don't like the way it leads up a barrel..............

I loaded up some snake loads in 38 spl and was surprised how well they shot out of my Sp101. At 7 yards they were nasty and should do the job.

I have a NAA 22 mag and it's strictly a belly gun and I use CCI HP and you would have a better chance with them. At least if they hit it they'll knock it down.
