Last year, I put up a new ceiling fan in the great room. We spent the extra money and got a good Hunter fan that has a remote control.

I just figured out something today that I think it kind of cool...

The ceiling fan has one of the those dimmer adjustable halogen lights that can be very bright when they are turned up to full power, we rarely use the light, as I prefer just to have a couple of floor lamps on in the evening...well...I just figured out that the remote control is radio and not IR, which means that I can turn on that BIG-OLE light on from the bedroom. So if I hear a bump in the night, I can hit the button and light the whole end of the house up with out even looking for a light switch.

Something to think about if you are going to replace a ceiling fan in the future.

That could surely be a big plus, if You suspected Gremlins have intruded !! Good for You ! I'll have to keep that in mind !

Great...better than the Clapper...where you have to put down your gun and light to turn on the light :twisted:

Wouldn't a clapper just make the lights go on and off with the gunfire?

Now THAT would make a funny video!!! You're right!!! I guess if you loaded up on beans, you could keep the lights flashin' all night...better forget the Clapper!!!

SD: I was thinking the same thing about the video but you took it a step further with the beans. I now know why I never bought one.

If anybody walks in here on us, they are gonna need that fan cause they'll be sweatin when they see me. Good idea.
