This pretty much sums it up on why I will never own one of these again.

I just had a friend bring his Taurus Tracker .41 Mag over, he was using Winchester Super X 210-gr JHP factory ammo. He was lucky that he did not suffer injury as a result when 3 chambers blew and the top strap. It took him time to find what was left as he collected what he could.

He has already contacted Taurus and is sending the Tracker back into them. I told him, that Taurus doesn't make this .41 Mag Tracker any longer so I do not know how they can fix this for him. I told him that they may offer him a new gun in a differant caliber such as a .44 Mag.

It's anyones guess

...coulda been one bad headache...how could that be the gun's fault??? I'll bet that he got a double-drop on his factory ammo....a factory gun defect should have only affected one cylinder hole, dontcha think????

This is the second gun this year that I've seen on forums, that kaboomed with Winchester factory ammo (the other was a RIA .45, and Winchester replaced the gun).....very curious.....that looks like a double charge.....

Save that ammo because I have to agree with SD on that one. Either a few extra grains of powder or a faster burning powder. Scary.

I love all-steel guns and goooood quality ammo...some things you don't cut corners on...they can have all the light-weight stuff...I'd rather the aluminum frame pistols be all steel....just don't mind the weight....OOF thinking, I know....

I trust my own more than factory. Sounds like Winchester needs to call a time out and figure out whats going on.

That's what I thought too. The kaboom looks to be the result of a double charge.

I saw some pictures recently of a kaboom in either a Redhawk or a SRH, I forget which. And I wish I could find those pictures again too.
