Good morning from sunny and HOT Phoenix AZ.

Was going to top off fuel in Needles CA. before the trek to Oatman Az, $4,89 gal, nope, crossed the river to Bullhead City Az , $3,43. Two blocks later paid $2.69.

Had a good time in Oatman but dodging Buros was literally a pain in the ass! Smacked one in the head with the mirror. Goldfield Az yesterday with granddaughters family then off to Sierra Vista tomorrow.

You all have a great day! Oh, no more off reading, yet!

I was at Bass Pro just before they opened at 9:00. There were about 8-10 waiting to get in. When they opened up they took tickets from a lady at the door and made a beeline back to the gun area. They were after ammo. I went around them and to the gun counter where I picked up the rifle, filled out the paperwork on line and was leaving the parking lot by 9:30. That included looking for bases for the rifle which they didn't have and the woman that is the lead in the gun dept training a new employee in handling the paperwork.

You had better luck than I! Glad all went well!

Off to Cottonwood AZ. today and visit Jerome tomorrow. Sierra Vista, or rather Fort Huachuca, has a neat little spi in the sky called Fat Albert watching to border, kind of their own satellite on a tether. hit every gun store in town looking for an OWB holster for the Shield +, might steal the wife's. The IWB one I.m using gets a little warm in the 90+ heat. Ended up ordering one from Winthrop Holsters, just like my DeSantis at a fraction of the cost, should be waiting when I get home.

Hope you are all behaving, have a great day!

Spent the day at Mesa Verde National Park, lots closed but still got some good pics. Now to get them on the computer.
One night stops from now until Dodge City.
Watching the gas situation on the East Coast, seams to be opening back up.

Hope you are all doing well!

Mesa Verde looks interesting. Is there a water source nearby? Just trying to figure out how they lived.

A lot of green and wild animals so must be springs around. We saw ferral horses not far from the dwellings.

Travel and day yesterday, Wolf Creek Pass, 10,600', snowing and high winds. Posted speed limits varied from 25 to 45, steep and curvy! Had rain from Cortez to Alamosa.

Alamosa, neat old-fashioned motor court. Best place we've stayed in so far. To bad they may have to close down completely, been closed ayear due to Covid.

Good pics as they enlarge enough to read about the various lawmen there. I remember reading Masterson ordered his Colt and was very specific about what he wanted

Wolf creek pass is no joke. Ed Wiseman killed the last known grizzly in that part of the state in 1979. Killed it using an arrow in his hand, as it was on him before he could react.
