As you can see the size differance in the X frame and an N frame when dealing with with the .500 Magnum and the more comon N frame of the 629 .44 Magnum revolvers.

I still can not find a reason to even consider buying one let alone shooting one, as everything I need to do can be done with the good ol .44 Magnum.

I don't have a need for a .500 here in Kentucky but they sure are a lot of fun to shoot. If I were in Africa I may have a legitimate need.

I shot one when I went to Idaho a couple years back. Three rounds at $2.00 a pop. The recoil was not that bad, as the flipping gun weighs almost as much as many rifles. But, the way I look at it, if I am gonna pack all that weight, I am gonna pack a rifle.

With the political nonsense on 50 cals in general the caliber becomes a huge negative. The positive would be fishing in AK and have a Brown Bear try to ruin your day. Overall I wouldn't own one as they aren't a heck of a lot more compact than a 12 ga with an 18" bbl.
