Anyone ever use or load wax bullets? I'm thinking about mybe doing it so I can shoot in my back yard or basement. It'll be good practice and fun in my SA guns I would think.

I used them a lot in .38----still loud but not too dangerous...don't wanta get hit by one...I used regular primers...not magnum....my thumb's still sore from pushin' the cases through...if you have a vise it's much better.....accuracy is OK across a room or down a hallway....

I'm just looking for something that'll shoot 15-20 feet with a bit of accuracy. It'd help with the draw and pointing a gun on target.

I'd put the primed cases in a loading block-lay the canning wax onto them, and squeeze them in a vise...if no vise, I'd put a cinder block onto it and step on it evenly...I used to do mine one at a time.....one thing that will help is to run the cases through the resizing die and use the deburring tool on the ones for wax shooting-the "sharpened" edge cuts the wax easier....

course it might be best to keep your ammo in the refrigerator then.. :lol: :lol: especially for the "hard" shots...........

Seriously, those are (the unused ones) pure and good for lots of things...I keep the deformed ones to wax dresser drawers, etc...didja know it's pure beeswax? Good stuff...but not thick enough for bullets...might be ok in a splattergun...I mean scattergun.......

some of the black powder crowd like to use them as well for paper-patch loads.......they also prefer the clean un-used ones........
