What's a good plastic holster to mount in a console?

I added a locking console to my FJ Cruiser. This photo looks funny because of the flash - the console absorbed more light so it looks like a totally different color. But trust me, it looks like it fits, it's a much closer match to the interior than it looks like here.

Anyway, I was thinking of mounting a plastic holster inside it to fit my SR9. Ergonomically I think it will work great. But what I need is maybe a paddle holster that has 3 or 4 screws so I can take the back paddle part off and just drill through the side of the console and attach it that way. Any reason that wouldn't work?

What do you think about this Fobus?

Eddie, sounds like a workable idea. You might also check out the same plastic type
holsters made by Uncle Mikes, I think the paddle is removable on them. too. :D
They have this too. That's a deep console, this might work, mount it to the floor of the console? The problem is nobody had a wide variety of these things, I almost need to order something online, try it out and if it doesn't work or fit the way I envisioned, return it. That's a hassle for everyone involved.

I'd get a cheap leather or nylon IWB holster...razor blade the clip off(I'm lefty)...and mount it against the wall with velcro straps....slimmer, easily removeable, and, being righty, you could leave the clip on, put the loop side of velcro on the holster, and peel it off of the console and slip it in your belt easily.....double duty.....hot glue should hold the velcro on the holster well.....or you can slit the seam...flatten it out, sew the velcro on, and resew the seam....

I hadn't thought of velcro. I guess it just didn't occur to me that it would be secure. Sometimes I use velcro for stuff and it doesn't hold worth a crap. But I think you're right about finding a cheap holster and playing around with that rather than spending a lot of money on something fancy that might not work as well.
I'm with Sheepdog. I'd buy a cheapy holster and experiment with it.
is this console goin' to be gun dedicated or is other stuff gonna go in it?

It'll have some other stuff in it. I have a little tactical flashlight that I've already found a perfect place to clip in there. Mints, phone charger, that sort of thing. I don't junk it up. Probably an extra magazine.
i believe that as hot as vehicles get inside durin' the summer(at least down here) the adhesive on the velcro will slip unless you put somethin' better to use as stick'em.

the idea of a cheap nylon holster is good especially if ya remove the clip, drill holes in it and mount the clip with screws to the inside of the console and then re-attach the holster to the clip. Or perhaps the super adhesive if it will hold up to the heat.

If more room is needed in the console, then perhaps mount the system to the underside of the lid or at least mount the flashlight and other accessories there.
don't forget ziplock, TP, and a clean pair of skivvies!!!

Is that to give to the would-be carjacker after he realizes I wasn't unbuckling my seatbelt but instead grabbing the SR9?
Let the undertaker dress him...I were thinkin' more about YOUR comfort and welfare....YOU might need to duck into a phone booth before the po-lice get there....
